Rekeep
Privacy Policy
Rekeep keeps what you copy on your own device. We don’t run servers for Rekeep, we don’t have an account system, and we don’t collect analytics.
What Rekeep stores
Rekeep saves the things you copy or share to it — text, links, images, colours, code, and references to files — together with details that help you find them again: when it was copied, which app was in front at the time (on Mac), notes and tags you add, and the collections you put it in. On images, Rekeep reads the text inside them using Apple’s on-device text recognition so search can find it.
All of this is stored only on the device where it was saved, in Rekeep’s private storage, protected by your device’s security (FileVault on Mac, Data Protection on iPhone and iPad). Rekeep does not add separate encryption of its own.
What Rekeep sends anywhere
Nothing. Rekeep makes no network requests for your content. Your clips are not uploaded, synced, or shared by Rekeep. The developer cannot see them.
What Rekeep deliberately doesn’t save
- Anything a password manager marks as confidential on the clipboard.
- Anything copied while an app you’ve excluded is in front (common password managers are excluded by default).
- Text that looks like a password, access key, token, private key, or card number — by default. Detection is heuristic and can miss things, so pause capture before copying something you never want stored.
- Anything copied while capture is paused.
Permissions
Mac — reading the clipboard. macOS asks whether Rekeep may read what you copy. Rekeep reads it only to save it locally.
Mac — Accessibility (optional). Used only to send ⌘V so a clip is pasted into the app you were using. Rekeep works without it.
iPhone and iPad — the Rekeep keyboard (optional). “Allow Full Access” lets the keyboard read your saved clips from Rekeep’s storage on the device. The keyboard does not record what you type, does not use the network, and inserts only the clips you tap.
Photos (optional). Only the photos you choose to import.
Your control
You can delete any clip, clear your history, or erase everything at any time from within the app. You can set how long history is kept. Deleting the app removes its data from the device. Export (Mac) creates a copy only where you choose to save it.
Children
Rekeep collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If a future version adds a feature that sends data off your device — for example, optional iCloud sync — it will be off until you turn it on, and this policy will be updated before that version is released.
